Britains Prince Charles has tested positive for coronavirus and has mild symptoms, a Clarence House spokesperson has confirmed.
The 71-year-old Prince of Wales is the heir to the British throne.
"He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual," the statement said.
The Duchess of Cornwall was tested and does not have the virus. The two are now self isolating at their residence in Scotland.
The two were tested by the NHS in Aberdeenshire "where they met the criteria required for testing," a spokesman said.
"It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks."
Buckingham Palace said in a statement that the last time the princes mother, Queen Elizabeth, saw him was on March 12.
Not the first famous person to test positive
Several well known individuals have recently come under criticism after saying they were tested with few or mild symptoms for the virus.
Actor Idris Elba said that he tested positive for the disease after coming into contact with a confirmed case.
Several politicians have also been able to be tested for the virus - including Michel Barnier, the EUs Brexit negotiator.
Meanwhile, in several countries testing is reserved for people presenting severe symptoms or healthcare workers who have symptoms.
French international football player Blaise Matuidi also said he was an asymptomatic carrier of the virus.
Matuidi wrote on social media that he was privileged to benefit from "regular and excellent medical" treatment.
"If that wasnt the case, I would have never known," Matuidi added.
